Glorious Broads: Redefining Ageing, Menopause, and Sex After 60

In this episode of Liberté – Free to Be, I introduce Glorious Broads — a celebration of women showing up boldly, honestly and unapologetically. This is about confidence, freedom, self-worth and rewriting the rules we were handed.

Glorious Broads are women who’ve lived, learned, laughed, fallen down and got back up — and now refuse to dim their light for anyone else’s comfort.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • What it really means to live on your own terms

  • Letting go of other people’s expectations

  • Confidence that comes from self-trust, not perfection

  • Why authenticity matters more than approval

  • Choosing yourself - without guilt

I love being part of the midlife community—but I’m equally inspired by the women in their 60s, 70s and beyond who are paving the way forward for us all. These women are redefining what it means to age, and their stories remind us that life after menopause can be vibrant, bold, and deeply fulfilling.

This is an invitation to stop waiting for permission and start being unapologetically and gloriously you.

Love, Sex & Dating Later in Life – Real Talk with UK Relationship Expert Kate Taylor

I’m joined by one of the UK’s leading relationship experts, Kate Taylor, to talk openly and honestly about dating over 40, love, sex, menopause, divorce, and modern relationships.

Kate and I first worked together in 2022 while I was a hosting radio show for Our Time, the online dating platform for over-50s. A nationwide study carried out by Our Time revealed something powerful:

53% of people over 50 say they feel sexier and more confident than ever before, and a quarter said their relationship and sex life improved after turning 50.

In our conversation, Kate explores:

  • Why divorce rates are rising among people in their 40s

  • How online dating can open the door to new beginnings

  • How menopause can affect confidence, intimacy and desire — and what actually helps

  • How to navigate dating apps safely and authentically

  • Why sex and connection still matter deeply in long-term relationships

  • How to rekindle intimacy when things feel stuck

We also share something personal — both Kate and I found love online on Match.com in our forties — proving that meaningful connection is possible at any stage of life. Whether you’re single, dating, newly divorced, navigating menopause, or wanting to reconnect in a long-term relationship, this episode offers reassurance, expert advice and real hope.

Raising Body-Confident Children: Supporting Positive Body Image with Anupa Roper

I spend a lot of time talking about body confidence in women over 40 — but what about the next generation?

In this episode of Liberté – Free to Be, I’m joined by Anupa Roper, also known as Sparrowlegs — a former primary school teacher, children’s author, body image educator and mum of two — to explore how we can support children and young people to grow up with healthier body image and self-worth.

Do you worry about your child’s body image?

Do you sometimes struggle with what to say — or not say — about bodies, food and appearance?

Anupa understands this deeply. For years, she allowed the label “skinny” to shape her confidence, choices and sense of worth. Constant comments about her body — being told how small she was, questioned about whether she ate enough — left her feeling uncomfortable in her own skin. Today, she uses that lived experience to empower children and families to break free from body image pressures.

In our conversation, Anupa shares:

  • How body image issues can affect children of all body types

  • Why comments we think are “harmless” can have lasting impact

  • How parents, carers and grandparents can model healthier language

  • The importance of body neutrality and self-acceptance from an early age

  • How to help children feel confident without focusing on appearance

We also talk about the power of reclaiming labels. Anupa was nicknamed “Sparrowlegs” as a child — a name she once found hurtful, but now owns with pride. That journey inspired her beautifully illustrated children’s book Sparrowlegs, aimed at under-7s, about a young sparrow learning to love the feathers she’s in.

It’s a gentle, powerful reminder that confidence isn’t about changing our bodies — it’s about changing the story we tell about them.

Women like Anupa are creating a positive ripple effect for future generations. And all of us have a role to play — through awareness, compassion and the language we use every day.

Keeping It Real: Confidence, Friendship & Courage with Rants & Big Pants

These two women are loved for their honesty, humour and no-filter approach to life — and they are deeply committed to keeping things real within their community. From the moment we sat down to record, I knew this was going to be a conversation full of laughter, truth and heart — and they did not disappoint.

Neens (Big Pants)-A true entertainer at heart, with SHOWBIZ running through her in glittery capital letters. Neens has spent nearly 20 years working in the beauty and cosmetics industry and loves sharing her knowledge — from skincare to sparkle.

Beyond the fun, Neens is deeply passionate about raising awareness around Alzheimer’s, having cared for her beloved late father during his illness. During lockdown, she even volunteered at his care home so she could continue to see him — a powerful act of love and courage. Neens lives by what she preaches, never afraid to step outside her comfort zone.

dB (Rants)- Writer, self-confessed wannabe cowgirl and lover of jeans, trainers, cowboy boots and leopard print. Known simply as dB (small d, capital B), she’s the voice of reason… until she’s on a rant — at which point the volume definitely rises. At heart, she’s still the girl who tucks her vest into her knickers — and that honesty is exactly why people love her.

Different personalities, shared values — together they’re a dream team.

How their friendship began — and whether it was love at first sight

  • Showing up as your authentic self, online and offline

Overcoming imposter syndrome and fear of judgement

  • How contrasting personalities can complement each other

  • Caring for elderly parents and navigating Alzheimer’s within families

  • Being brave, trying new things and stepping outside your comfort zone

  • Publishing your first book later in life
